In this week’s Radical series, we are studying Matthew 7:13–27 where we can realize that God’s Word is the standard by which God’s people must live. We grasp and fundamentally understand that the Gospel is the revelation of who God is, who we are and how we can be reconciled to Him. We have the dangerous tendency to misunderstand, minimize and even manipulate the Gospel in order to accommodate our assumptions and our desires.  As a result, we desperately need to explore how much of our understanding of the Gospel is cultural and how much is biblical.  We will discover how one’s response to the Word of God reveals the true nature of his or her relationship with God. We will begin to develop a passion and knowledge of God’s Word by committing to read through it entirely. “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21.
